CHRISTINE SATHER
Managing Director
Christine Sather has demonstrated strategic business advisory and executive search expertise in all functional aspects of leadership. She founded the international consultancy, The Melbourne Marketing Group, in 1993 to serve clients in business growth. Her experience encompasses brand building, strategic planning, communications, distribution, product, and market and leadership development.
As a search consultant with one of the major global search firms she established a new practice in the industrial sector, advising clients including leading, established multinational and local organisations in the technical, retail and industrial sectors. Assignments involved turnarounds and start-ups in industries ranging from automotive, aerospace, computer and internet software, insurances, health care, building products, packaging, forestry and financial services.
Christine has demonstrated executive search expertise in all functional aspects of leadership teams in these sectors. She has also worked closely with the government sector in executive search, business development and investment attraction.
She served as the City of Melbourne’s business ambassador to the United States and was the BTR Building Product Group’s first Group Manager (SVP) of Global Marketing. Previously, Christine worked in advertising at Clemenger/BBDO and also Darcy Masius Benton & Bowles, where she won awards for the effectiveness of her client work. Before joining DMB&B, she brought a new customer and branding focus to Nissan Australia as a Marketing Manager.
Christine started her career in the United States with Nike, joining first the retail and later the international division with responsibility for marketing management and distribution across Europe, then Canada and throughout Asia Pacific. Having helped Nike ‘start-up’ in Australia, she returned to the USA where she developed and launched new footwear product ranges for the global company.
Christine holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Whitman College in the United States and has completed postgraduate studies at Harvard University.
A member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, The American Chamber of Commerce in Australia and The Asia Society, Christine is also a Patron of the Trade Development Association of Greater Seattle. Residing in Melbourne, she is a dual citizen of Australia and the USA and a EUFA qualified, elite soccer coach.

In leadership development, as a certified presenter, trainer and facilitator, Deniel applies proprietary tools to assist front line and program managers, senior executives and business founder entrpreneurs identify and capitalise on solutions that continue to make the difference in people, performance and profitability. Her facilitation skills coupled with her background in cash management and practical business solutions help to turnaround troubled companies, transforming complex organisational issues into workplace success. Coaching and mentoring program executives, managers and business owners internationally, she advises in strategic planning initiatives, organisational development, human resources management, leadership development and executive search. Importantly Deniel also contributes with board development, quality and diversity programs.
Demonstrating a passion for international humanitarian programs and education, Deniel is an active member of Rotary International, the Rotarian Action Group for Microcredit and The Family Firm Institute.
